My Story

My journey to better health all started with a conversation that went something like this:

Me: I'm in menopause

Dr: No way, you are too young

Me: Yes, I am. Let's do a blood test

Dr: (upon seeing test) Wow, you are in menopause!

I strongly believe that we know our bodies, and we know when something is amiss. Once I had the proof that I truly was in menopause, I began to wonder about the "other side of life".

I had always been thin, active, & what I thought of as healthy. You see I may have been thin, but I definitely was not on a healthy path. I loved pizza, pasta, ice cream, cheese, hamburgers, microwave meals, and PEPSI. I worked out, and I had been taught if calories in = calories out then you wouldn't gain weight. HOWEVER, I had begun to get cellulite in my thighs (I have later learned that this is toxin buildup stored in fat cells), and for the first time my stomach was not flat! I had low energy & became depressed for the first time in my life.

Feeling lost & lonely I picked up Suzanne Somers book, Breakthrough. This opened up my eyes to the fact that there was a way to actually be proactive about my health. I began to see a connection between internal health and the foods that I was eating. You see when you appear healthy on the physical level, it's hard to believe when you hear about the damaging effects that daily soda pop will have on your internal organs...

I then began researching/reading everything I could on how to actually be healthy from the inside out. This led me to going back to school and getting certified as a holistic health coach. I wanted to learn how to help myself as well as helping others. I graduated in Dec 2013 and have never looked back.
